All trips depart directly from Blue Reef Beach’s private dock, making it effortless to step off the sand and onto the boat for a full day on the water. Reach out to our Front Desk book any of these exhilarating sea days.

Inner Reef
Belize’s reef is packed with life, and the action rarely slows down. About 45 minutes from shore, the inner reef offers calm, clear water and constant fishing. Guides mix up techniques depending on the conditions and target species, from spin casting and trolling with live bait to bottom fishing over coral heads. Some days it's a steady snapper bite, other days it's jacks chasing the lines or a surprise kingfish cutting through the spread.
Target Species Include: Jacks, Snapper, Kingfish, Barracuda, Mackerel, Groupers.

Outer Reef
Beyond the reef, the water drops deep and the fishing turns fast. Runs to the outer reef and blue water are where the bigger game lives: wahoo, mahi-mahi, tuna, and seasonal billfish. Trips often start with trolling spreads of lures or rigged ballyhoo along currents, sea weed lines, and drop-offs. The guides know when to switch things up, from high-speed trolling for wahoo to live baiting for tuna or slow drifting over structure. It’s high-energy fishing in open water that keeps you on your toes with fast runs, hard strikes, and plenty of chaos when the bite’s hot.
Target Species Include: Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Tuna, King Mackerel, Grouper, Billfish.

Spearfishing
For those who like to get hands-on, spearfishing is as raw and rewarding as it gets. Freedive alongside local guides who know every drop, ledge, and channel across the reef. Trips focus on sustainable hunting and selective harvest of seasonal species like snapper, grouper, and lobster. Depths and techniques vary with experience, and trips can be tailored for everyone from newbies to seasoned pros.
Target Species Include: Hogfish, Groupers, Snappers, Lobster, Mackerel

Island Hopping
Spend the day exploring Belize’s southern cayes, small, palm-fringed islands scattered along the reef. Each island brings something different, from beach bars and restaurants to quiet stretches of sand where you can swim or just relax. Your captain will plan the route based on your preferences, making it an easygoing day built around what you want, whether that’s sun, cold drinks, or a fresh seafood lunch on the beach.
Popular Stops Include: Moho Caye, King Lewey’s, Ray Caye, and more.
