Our Story
The Renaissance of a Placencia Icon
Blue Reef Beach is more than just Placencia’s newest beachfront escape—it is the spirited second incarnation of a much-loved Peninsula landmark that was lovingly designed and renovated after a brief hiatus from being the ultimate, and original, Placencian resort for nature lovers and adventurers.
Set in the middle of the desirable Placencia Peninsula, the original property was famed for its prime location and stunning environment. It has been completely remodelled and reborn, retaining its cherished footprint but now with a totally different character of rustic, boutique luxury.

Blue Reef Island
The vision for this renaissance was sparked by the owners' first project: the secluded Blue Reef Island, a private caye 20 minutes offshore. Having fallen for the deep blue of Belize, they seized the opportunity to revitalize this spectacular beachfront resort in Placencia after the success of the Island.

The resort’s transformation began on the lagoon side at our full-service marina.
